in 1631, The Delaware Colony arrived in Delaware. The Dutch quickly traded beaver fur items with Native Americans who within a short time destroyed the settlement after a disagreement between the two groups. A permanent settlement was not agreed on un till 1638 by swedes at Wilmington that was known as fort Christina earlier. Also, the Munsee tribe in 1669, aided the Esopus people while the Dutch colony was defeated by captin Martin Cregier in the Esopus wars. Delaware became a state on December 7, 1787.
